The rent you may be willing to pay could also depend on the living arrangements you are offered, the number of other household occupants or the quality of the property. There are many variables that affect your budget, so it is good to have a range in mind.

For example:

If you are offered a property that means you will save money on a short, less expensive commute, you may be willing to pay more rent.
If you are offered a property that would entail a more costly, time-consuming, stressful commute, then you may decide to pay less rent.
